INVEST IN YOURSELF

After a series of incredible retreat events in San Diego, Nashville, and Salt Lake City over the past 2 years, our team is going BIG and headed to TEXAS for our next mastermind intensive retreat.

As a senior leader, this 2 1/2 day excursion will be the highlight of your year because you'll work on actually growing your ministry with others that fully understand what it's like to sit in your seat at the table.

The relationships you establish with executive pastor peers across the country will far outlast the few days we will have together.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The AUSTIN TEXAS Retreat Intensive will center around the POV of the Executive Pastor - a very unique and critical role in any thriving ministry community.

WHAT IS A MASTERMIND GROUP?

Mastermind groups are different and more than reading leadership books or blogs. It's more than going to a conference with rah-rah speakers. It's more than hiring a coach or consultant to come in a fix a issue or advise on how to apply a specific methodology. Masterminding offers a practical learning laboratory environment for its participants.

Masterminding offers a unique combination of brainstorming, input from peer-to-peer experience & wisdom, accountability and both personal and professional support in a peer group setting.

Fully invested participants elevate their critical thinking and leadership skills. But just as importantly successful mastermind groups help each other achieve success in each of their own organizations.

You'll love both the structured & unstructured programming throughout the 3 days together at the unique collaboration-minded venue in the heart of one of the most vibrant cities of the South.

The Agenda

HERE IS A SAMPLE SCHEDULE SO YOU HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT TO EXPECT. FINAL ELEMENTS ARE STILL BEING PLANNED.

11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Check-In Begins

Doors open at high noon to get into your comfortable digs for the next couple of days and unwind.

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Hit the ground running

Let's get inspired by the talks. We will have different talks. Conceptual and practical. Everything we're doing to do is to stretch you beyond the boundaries that are limiting your true potential - as a leader and as a ministry.

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

HOT SEATS // Round 1

The favorite session activity will be the highlight of the day as you set the stage with a 3 1/2 minute debrief of your leadership milestone question. You'll then get 25 minutes of pure input and wisdom from a circle of invested peers to want to see you do nothing but succeed.

4:30 pm - 5:15 pm

Milk & Cookies

Everyone will be hungry for more, but also it's time to grab a snack and get to know each other further.

6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

HOT SEATS // Round 2

These are typically the highest-valued segments of the retreat. But interestingly enough, the majority consistently report that they got more value when they were helping to solve problems as peers vs being the in hotseat and presenting their own milestone / decision point to the group. Regardless Round 2 is better than Round 1.

7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Dinner

It's chow time! After a great first day, you'll be hungry for some good eats.

9:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Under the Stars

Free time or hit the hay, it's your choice. But you'll only have 2 precious evenings under the stars, so. . . make the most of your evening, till tomorrow bright & early!

Day 2

8:00 am - 9:00 am

RISE & SHINE BREAKFAST

We're just getting started. Get ready for a full day of work together. Don't worry, there definitely will be some fun and free time and networking baked into the agenda for today.

9:00 am - 10:00 pm

WORKING SESSIONS

The rest of Day 2 will be tremendously dense but fast-moving. We have a completely full day together and we'll make the most of it.

MY "2 SENSE"

Get ready for a fun but furious LIGHTNING ROUND of wisdom as each participant reveals their ultimate ministry tactic in back-to-back 2 minute presentations with discussions to help process each one.fb

10:00 am - 10:00 pm

Day 3

8:00 am - 11:00 am

FINAL SESSION
We still have one more session to go through. Expect to roll-up your sleeves and put in a fair amount of finishing work. We want you walking out feeling accomplished.

11:00 am - 1:00 pm

IT'S NOT GOOD BYE UNLESS YOU WANT IT TO BE

[OPTIONAL]

It will feel like time has flown by. You won't believe the experience is over. Or is it? We'll formally check-out of the venue, but will head into the city for an informal lunch together - or you're on your own to explore downtown Austin till your departure or flight back home.

OCTOBER 17 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm ET

Time will ZOOM by. Have you put things into action?

It's been two weeks since you left the group in Austin. It's time to hop on a group Zoom call to hold each other accountable for that ONE NEXT STEP we all articulated as we left Austin together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where is the venue located?

A. We have found a fantastic location that is right in the middle of the famous 6th Street culture and entertainment that Austin has to offer. The venue is built with group events in mind, with common spaces. But hotel-like rooms for boarding. We'll reveal exact location details once registration and payment is complete. For travel planning you'll want to fly into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. And the venue is located approx 6.5 miles or 15-20 min from the airport by car.

Q. Is there parking available?

A. You probably don't need to rent a car for the retreat. However, on-site, parking is available for guests, and there is also paid street parking available.

Q. How much free time will we have to explore Austin?

A. Short TLDR; answer: not much. Longer answer: This is definitely a working retreat. Be ready to roll-up your sleeves and get to work. Past retreats have had breakfast start at 8:00am. And some evening activities could last till as late as 10:00pm. During the retreat experience, we usually try to plan at least one local, off-site excursion -- TBD for Austin if any at this point. But overall, the feedback from past participants have overwhelmingly advised off-site activities should be kept to a minimum (to maximize the interaction time and relationship-development opportunity we have together at the retreat venue). The official departure is scheduled for 11am Thursday. Planning a late evening flight or staying an extra day has been a popular option for many in the past.

Q. Can I bring along a team member?

A. We understand that sometimes it's best to bring counterpart leaders to process & learn together. Due to space limitations, you can bring up to one other leader, as long as they are on staff and part of your executive leadership. Tuition fees remain the same for the second participant.

Q. Can I bring along a spouse?

A. We can appreciate that you want to bring your spouse on this getaway break from the routine. Due to the intensity of the schedule, need for full focus from all our participants, and small group nature of the experience, we won't be able to accept spouses for this retreat. Practically speaking, they really would not have much time at all to spend with you since due to the limited "free time" slots on the agenda. The exception is if your spouse is on staff as part of the executive leadership of your church, and intends to be a full participant - then you can attend together. Tuition fees would be discounted 15% for the second person due to shared room.

Q. Who do I ask if I have more questions?

A. This mastermind mind is being co-hosted by Brian Beauford, Rich Birch, and Kenny Jahng. Feel free to reach out to any of them. Or you can email directly: kenny {at@} bigclicksyndicate.com
